Help Tompkins County residents learn how to grow their own food! Come to this FREE training to become a volunteer teacher for Seed-to-Supper, a fun and innovative 6-session gardening program for beginning gardeners who want to learn to grow food on a budget.
FREE Seed-to-Supper classes will be offered in multiple locations in Tompkins County by trained volunteers, using a combination of PowerPoint presentations and hands-on activities. Topics covered will include: planning a vegetable garden, soil preparation, composting, planting, garden maintenance, pests and diseases, and harvesting.
Volunteer applications are due Friday 2/21;
Training dates are Thursday, February 27, 5:30-8:00pm and Saturday, February 29, 10:00am-4:00pm at Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County at 615 Willow Avenue in Ithaca.
